The German death metal band Parasite Inc. formed in 2007, quickly establishing a hard-charging sound that mixed metal influences with an emphasis on melody. Guitarist Kai Bigler and drummer Benjamin Stelzer launched the group in Aalen, Germany, where they were joined by additional guitarist Benedikt Grubauer and bassist Patrick Hauf. The band's self-titled demo, Parasite Inc., was released in 2010. The record also marked the final appearance by Patrick Hauf, who was soon replaced by Sebastian Schmid. Benedikt Grubauer departed the lineup one year later, with Kevin Sierra taking his place. Time Tears Down, Parasite Inc.'s debut album, was released in 2013, featuring new material as well as newer versions of the songs that first appeared on the band's 2010 demo. Lineup changes continued to occur, with guitarist Dominik Sorg and bassist Stefan Krämer both joining the group in the wake of Times Tears Down's release. This new roster appeared on Parasite Inc.'s second album, Dead and Alive, in August 2018. A live record, Live at the EMFA 2020, followed two years later. 2020 also marked the departure of Krämer, who was replaced by bassist Lucien Mosesku. This new lineup returned to the studio to record Cyan Night Dreams, an album that found frontman Kai Bigler expanding beyond the growling sound that had characterized his previous vocal performances. Featuring "clean singing" and a stronger emphasis on melody, Cyan Night Dreams was released in August 2022.
