Parmalee, an American country music band from Parmele, North Carolina, prefers to keep things in the family. The band consists of brothers Matt Thomas (on lead vocals and guitar) and Scott Thomas (drums), as well as their cousin Barry Knox on bass and their close childhood friend Josh McSwain on guitar. The group released their debut EP Daylight in 2002, which earned them the attention of record labels and led directly to the recording of their full-length debut album Inside (2004). This was followed by Mildew or Barbecue? In 2006, and Complicated in 2008. Their breakthrough single “Musta Had a Good Time” came in 2012, peaking at Number 38 on the US Billboard Country Airplay chart. This was followed by the single “Carolina,” which hit No. 1 on US Country Airplay. Both tracks were included in the band’s next album, 2013’s Feels Like Carolina, which peaked at Number 10 on the US Top Country Albums chart. In 2017, they released their album 27861. This was followed by the album For You in 2021, which includes the singles “Just the Way,” a collaboration with rapper Blanco Brown, and “Take My Name.” The album peaked at Number 35 on the US Top Country Albums chart.
