Paul Roger Elstak is not only a veteran of the gabber scene - he is also its pioneer. Born in The Hague on January 14, 1966, the DJ's career began in 1987 in the Rotterdam club BlueTiek-in. in 1992, Elstak founded his own label, Rotterdam Records, which mainly released hardcore techno and happy hardcore tracks. The producer, who succeeded in transferring the underground impetus of Gabber to the mainstream, landed a coup in 1995 with his debut album May the Forze Be with You. The album, which reached number 11 in the Dutch charts, contained a total of five singles - "Life Is Like a Dance / Play My Game", "Luv U More", "Rainbow in the Sky", "Don't Leave Me Alone" and "The Promised Land" - all of which reached the Dutch Top 10. Elstak, who repeatedly ventured into the Eurodance genre throughout his career, left Rotterdam Records in 2001 and founded a new label, Offensive Records. His second album Show No Fear, which was released in 2007 and was once again reliably positioned between 150 and 190 beats per minute, was followed by "Turbo" in 2010. The title track of the film New Kids Turbo made it to number 11 in the Dutch singles charts. Backed by this success, Elstak presented the compilation LP The Best of in 2011, which reached number 55 in the album charts in his home country. In addition to individual singles such as "Entgeltje" (feat. Jebroer & Dr Phunk) or "Kind van de Duivel" (feat. Jebroer), the next long-player B2S Presents DJ Paul Elstak (all 2017) is also released. in 2022, Elstak takes part in "Gabber Girl", a song by German rapper Finch, which gives the hardcore producer his first chart position in Germany (number 70).
