Paula Tsui Siu-Fung, better known as Paula Tsui, is a Hong Kong Cantopop singer whose career spans over 50 years of music. Born on January 1, 1949, in Wuhan, Hubei, she moved to Hong Kong at a young age and quickly found her passion for music. After winning a singing competition in 1966, she quickly became a household name in the thriving Cantopop scene of the 1970s and 1980s, releasing classic albums such as Sixteen Years (1971), Tycoon (1978), and Every Step (1986). Since then, she has released over 50 albums, with many of them achieving gold and platinum status. Throughout her career, Paula Tsui has been recognized through numerous awards, including the RTHK Top Ten Chinese Golden Melody Awards Concert Golden Needle Award in 1989. One of her most significant career highlights was her record-breaking 43 concerts in 37 days during her 1992 Amway Paula Tsui in Concert. Some of her most notable releases include the hit songs "Ask the Stars" (1982), "Break of Dawn" (1982), and "Every Step" (1986), all of which were included in the 2013 compilation 100% in Gold K2HD. She continued to release music and perform live over the following decades, making several appearances for the TVB and Asia Television TV stations.
