Pe Werner was born in Heidelberg, Germany. She grew up reciting poetry before moving into theatre. She released her debut album 'Weibsbilder' in 1989, launching herself into the music industry with critical acclaim. She followed this with 1991's 'Kribbeln im Bauch', 1993's 'Los!', a self-titled third album in 1994, 'Etepetete' in 1995 and 'Herzkönigin' in 2000. After a break of nine years, she released 'Im Mondrausch' in 2009. As well as her own recordings, Werner has also written for other artists including Petra Zieger, Katja Ebstein, Barbara Schoeneberger and Stefan Gwildis. She wrote the German entry into the Eurovision Song Contest for 2008, titled 'Hinterm Ozean', placing second in the final. She commemorated 25 years in the business with an anniversary album 'From A to Pe' in 2015.
