Pene Pati

Born in the Samoa Islands in 1988, the operatic tenor Pene Pati grew up in Auckland, New Zealand. He is best known as being a member of operatic trio Sol3 Mio alongside his tenor brother Amitai Pati and baritone cousin Moses Mackay. Pena Pati began his career winning many high-profile competitions including being honored with the coveted Joan Sutherland and Richard Bonynge ‘Bel Canto’ Award in 2012. Three years later, he took both Second Prize and Audience Prize at Operalia as well as winning Second Prize at Neue Stimmen. Pene Pati is a graduate of San Francisco Opera’s Adler Program and made his debut as Il Duca di Mantova in Verdi’s Rigoletto in 2017. During the 2018/2019 season, he received great acclaim for his performance as Percy in Donizetti’s Anna Bolena at Opéra national de Bordeaux in France. As one of the most sought-after tenors of his day, Pene Pati has performed on stages all around the world. While busy with his own career, he also performed in Sol3 Mio, a trio formed in 2012. Since 2013, Sol3 Mio have released three Number 1 albums in New Zealand plus a Christmas album that rose to Number 2 on the chart. In March 2022, Pene Pati released his self-titled debut album.
