Belgian guitarist Philip Catherine is one of the finest soloists in jazz today. He got his start in the 1960s accompanying legends, before performing with Jean-Luc Ponty's group Experience from 1970 to 1972. He then embarked on a remarkable solo career punctuated by collaborations, notably with Larry Coryell. His albums Moods (1992), Blue Prince (2001) and Guitars Two (2008) are among the finest examples of his work.
