Belizean-American rapper, producer, and sound engineer Pi’erre Bourne was born Jordan Timothy Jenks on September 19, 1993. Raised in Columbia, South Carolina, he became interested in East Coast hip hop during his summer visits to his grandmother in Queens, New York. By the time he was in elementary school, he was already crafting beats using his uncle’s computer, who was a rapper and a graphic designer. After dropping out of college, Pi’erre Bourne moved to Atlanta to study sound engineering at the SAE Institute and was then hired as an audio engineer for Epic Records, a job he left a year later to focus on his own career. In 2016, he dropped three volumes of his mixtape series The Life of Pi’erre while producing tracks for Young Nudy and Trippie Redd. His breakout came the following year when he produced a handful of tracks on Playboy Carti’s self-titled debut, including the viral hit “Magnolia,” which hit Number 29 on the Billboard Hot 100. From there on, Pie’rre Bourne became one of the most in-demand producers in the hip hop scene, working with 21 Savage, Lil Yachty, Young Thug, and even Kanye West. A collaborative album with Young Nudy titled Sli’merre arrived in 2019 and was followed by his proper studio debut, The Life of Pi’erre 4, released in June of that year. His second full-length The Life of Pi’erre 5 hit the shelves in 2021 and entered the Top 40 of the Billboard 200.
