Pink Sweat$ is the R&B project of American singer/songwriter David Bowden. Born in Philadelphia on February 14, 1992, Bowden was raised in a Christian household and listened to sacred music until he was 17, when he discovered rap artists like Kanye West and 50 Cent. Two years later, he began working as a demo vocalist at a local studio, where he earned his stage name after repeatedly wearing pink sweatpants to work. Pink Sweat$' career quickly expanded into production and songwriting, too, and he made his debut as a solo artist with 2018's "Honesty." The song went platinum and was quickly followed by a second single, "No Replacing You." Both tracks appeared on Pink Sweat$ debut EP, Volume 1, which was released in November 2018. The subsequent EPs Volume 2 and The Prelude followed in 2019 and 2020, respectively, with Pink Sweat$ maintaining an ongoing string of single releases with "I Know," "17," and the holiday staple "This Christmas." He also appeared on Wale's "50 in da Safe," Thutmose's "Man on Fire," and Gashi's "Upset." This whirl of activity culminated in the release of his full-length debut album, Pink Planet. Although the record itself stalled at Number 133 on the Billboard charts, it did spawn the global hit single "At My Worst," which peaked at Number 22 on the American Bubbling Under Hot 100, Number 2 on the Singapore singles chart, and Number 1 in Malaysia.
