Plastilina Mosh is a Mexican rock duo formed in 1997 in Monterrey, Nuevo León. Known for blending jazz, hip-hop, electronic music, and other genres, they became a key part of the Avanzada Regia movement. The group consists of members Jonás González and Alejandro Rosso. Niño Bomba, their debut EP, was released in 1997 via Tómbola! and sold 5,000 copies. This initial success led to significant media attention, and their music began to gain traction on both radio and television. Their breakthrough came with their studio debut Aquamosh in 1998, an eclectic downtempo and trip-hop LP whose production credits include Sukia, Jason Roberts, Café Tacuba, Tom Rothrock, and Rob Snapf. The album contained the hit single "Mr. P. Mosh," which achieved international recognition and peaked at number 25 on the Billboard Latin Pop Airplay. Following Aquamosh, Plastilina Mosh released Juan Manuel, a slightly more dance-oriented album featuring singles like "Human Disco Ball" and "Bassass." Their third album, Hola Chicuelos, contained the popular tracks "Peligroso Pop" and "Te lo juro por Madonna," and was known for its conceptual continuity. In 2008, they released All U Need Is Mosh through Happy-Fi Records, featuring collaborations with artists like Ximena Sariñana and Niña Dioz. In 2023, the group returned with Mosh & Mambo, a collection of reinterpretations of their songs in styles like cha-cha-cha and mambo. They continued their innovative streak in 2024 with the release of "Controlemos el Fuego," in collaboration with the People's League.
