Plave is a virtual South Korean boy band formed by the talent agency VLast. They entered the music scene in 2022 made up of five members: Yejun, Noah, Bamby, Eunho, and Hamin. The members bring diverse talents to the group. Yejun, the leader, contributes as a vocalist and producer. Noah adds his skills as a vocalist and producer, while Bamby (also known as Bonggu) is recognized for his vocal and dance abilities, also serving as a choreographer. Eunho, a rapper and vocalist, contributes to production, and Hamin showcases his talents in rapping and dancing, also working as a choreographer. The band's name is a portmanteau of "Play" and "RĂªve" (French for "Dream"), symbolizing their ambition to create a new realm for realizing their dreams. The group first emerged through a series of live broadcasts, officially debuting with the 2023 single album Asterum. Their first EP, Asterum: The Shape of Things to Come (2023), was a remarkable success, gaining 1 million streams within 13 hours and reaching a total of 1.7 million streams within 24 hours of its release. It reached the number 2 spot on the South Korean charts and quickly earned platinum certification. This rapid popularity led to the EP's entry into the Melon Hall of Fame. Preceded by the Top 10 entries "Merry PLLIstmas" and "Way 4 Luv," Plave's second extended play Asterum: 134-1 arrived in February 2024 and soared to the top of the South Korean charts, also peaking at number 14 in Japan.
