Pogo

Christopher Nicholas Bertke (born July 26, 1988 in Cape Town, South Africa) (known as Pogo) is an Australian electronic musician, known for his use of audio and video sampling of found footage. In 2010, Pogo released his first music video Gardyn which was juried for an exhibition at the Guggenheim Museum in New York City, releasing his first album Texturebox on 30 December, following this with another five albums between 2011 and 2016 including Wonderpuff (2011), Star Charts (2014) and Kindred Shadow (2015). In 2016, he released controversial single “Trumpular” which sampled quotes from former Republican nominee Donald Trump, including this on his album Weightless (2016). In 2017, Pogo released a video for his 2013 single “Alice”, mixing audio and video samples from Alice in Wonderland (animated film), attracting considerable over 30 million views. Using samples from popular animated television series The Simpsons, Pogo followed this with “Homarge” in 2019 (featuring on his 2020 EP, Unity) and the Stranger Things (television series) inspired “Stangerous” in 2019, included on 2022 album Cosmoluxe.
