Pokey LaFarge is an American singer-songwriter and guitarist who performs broadly in the Americana style blending blues, folk, country and swing. His 2017 release 'Manic Revelations' went to number nine on Billboard's Heatseekers Albums Chart and he has spent the first part of 2018 touring major cities in Europe. His current band features Adam Hoskins on guitar, Ryan Koenig on harmonica, washboard and mandolin, Joey Glynn on bass and Matthew Meyer on drums. Born in central Illinois, he learned to play guitar, banjo and mandolin as a child and busked as he hitchhiked around the United States. In 2006, he released an album titled 'Marmalade' and had a stint with the string band The Hackensaw Boys and performed with Hoskins, Glynn and Koenig as the South City Three. 'Beat, Move & Shake' came out in 2008 followed by 'Riverboat Soul' in 2010. 'Pokey LaFarge' (2013) went to number 20 on Billboard's Americana/Folk Albums Chart, number 29 on the Heatseekers Albums Chart and number 64 on the Top Country Albums Chart. 'Something in the Water' (2015) peaked at number five on the Heatseekers Chart, number ten on the Americana/Folk Chart and number 27 on the Country Chart. He commenced a European tour with the band in 2018 with appearances in Germany, Austria, Italy, Switzerland, France, Netherlands, England and Scotland with other dates to include Belgium and Spain and a return to America for performances in several cities from June to November.
