Described by Rolling Stone magazine in 2018 as "a leader of the modern reggae revival movement", Oje Ken Ollivierre, who goes by the name Protoje, is a Jamaican singer-songwriter who has had three records in the top ten on Billboard's Reggae Albums Chart. Born into a musical family - his mother is Jamaican singer Lorna Bennett and his father, Mike Ollivierre, is a calypso singer from Saint Vincent and the Grenadines - he gained attention with a rap-influenced mix tape titled 'Lyrical Overdose Vol. 1' in 2005 and released his first studio album, 'The Seven Year Itch', in 2011. Domestic fame led to international acclaim and his 2013 release 'The 8 Year Affair' went to number five on Billboard's Reggae Chart while 'Ancient Future' (2015) and 'A Matter of Time' (2018) reached number one. He has played at major festivals including Glastonbury, Coachella, Reading & Leeds, Summer Jam and Canada's Pemberton Music Festival.
