Psirico (which means 'Psycho' in Portuguese) is a Brazilian band that specialises in the traditional country-folk style of pagode music that was showcased by Tiao Carreiro and Lourival dos Santos in the late 1950s. Founded in the early 2000s by percussionist and singer Márcio Victor as a jam group rather than a fully formed band to take part in the local Salvador, Bahia Festa Junina festivities. In 2014 Psirico released their first album, live recording 'The Bahia Hurricane Live' with the single 'Sambadinha' winning popular and critical plaudits. This was followed by their hit single 'Lepo Lepo' which secured them a larger appeal via TV performances and more than 70 million YouTube views for the video; it was also used by US rapper Pitbull. Since the group's chaotic and uproarious beginnings they have released two more original long players as well as two greatest hits. 2019 saw the release of 'Just Toca Psi' with ten new songs in digital formats.
