PUP

PUP (short for Pathetic Use of Potential) is a Canadian punk rock band from Toronto, Ontario. Formed in 2010 under the name Topanga, the group consists of Nestor Chumak, Steve Sladkowski, Zack Mykula, and Stefan Babcock. After releasing the Topanga EP (2010) and the two-track album Oceans (2012), they changed their name to PUP while working on their first full-length. Produced by Dave Schiffman, their eponymous studio debut saw the light in 2013 to great critical acclaim, earning the band two Bucky Awards for Best Live Show and Best New Artist. They followed this success with 2016's The Dream Is Over, which climbed to Number 1 on the US Heatseekers Albums Chart. A third album titled Morbid Stuff appeared in 2019 and peaked at Number 15 on the Canadian Albums Chart, also winning a Juno Award for Alternative Album of the Year. Preceded by the Top 50 single "Matilda," PUP's fourth album The Unraveling of PUPTheBand arrived in 2022 via Rise Records.
