Pure Reason Revolution

Pure Reason Revolution are a British neo-prog rock band formed in 2003 at the University of Westminister in London. The band consists of founding members Jon Courtney and Chloe Alper, along with a rotating lineup of talented musicians. Their music features lush harmonies, intricate arrangements, and thought-provoking lyrics that often explore themes of consciousness, technology, and existentialism. The band gained initial recognition with their debut album, The Dark Third, released in 2006, which showcased their ability to merge melodic songwriting with expansive soundscapes. Following this, their sophomore effort, Amor Vincit Omnia (2009), and third album Hammer and Anvil (2010) further established their reputation, featuring rich instrumentation and a more refined sound. After a seven-year hiatus in 2011, Pure Reason Revolution reunited in 2019 and returned in 2022 with Above Cirrus, which marked a significant evolution in their sound while retaining their signature style. Their live performances are known for their captivating energy and immersive experiences, solidifying their status as a prominent act in the modern progressive rock scene. In 2024, Pure Reason Revolution continues to push boundaries and inspire listeners worldwide with their sixth album, Coming Up to Consciousness.
