Raven

Since their beginnings in Newcastle, England, in 1974, Raven, led by brothers John Gallagher and Mark Gallagher, have been devoted to the New Wave of British Heavy Metal, a style whose birth they accompanied from the mid-1970s onwards, and whose spirit they perpetuate to this day. Their power trio formula, adopted in 1987, far from limiting them to this demanding style characterized by its technicality and decibel overload, has enabled them to develop an athletic, powerful and syncopated playing style. In 2001, a stage accident suffered by Mark Gallagher forced the trio into silence for several years. Returning with Walk Through Fire in 2009, Raven released their thirteenth album ExtermiNation in 2015. In 2017, drummer Joe Hasselvander, present since 1987, gave way to Mike Heller, who took part in the tour that resulted in the third live album Screaming Murder Death from Above - Live in Aalborg, released in 2019. Back in the studio, John Gallagher's band record Metal City (2020). Released during the Covid-19 pandemic, it did not allow the band to defend it on stage. We therefore had to wait three years for the release of All Hell's Breaking Loose (2023), followed two years later by Can't Take Away the Fire, an EP split between five original tracks and three live tracks from different eras.
