RBD

Created in 2004 as an offshoot of the teen telenovela Rebelde, the Mexican pop group RBD quickly became one of the best-selling Latin music acts of all time, achieving widespread success not only in Latin America but also in the United States of America. The group's original lineup consisted of cast members Anahí, Christian Chávez, Dulce María, Maite Perroni, Christopher von Uckermann, and Alfonso Herrera, who quit the group after its breakup in 2009. Rebelde, their studio debut, appeared in 2004 and soared to the top of the charts in Mexico, Spain, and Brazil, prompting the group to release a Portuguese version in 2005. That year, RBD followed up with the equally successful Nuestro Amor, which reached Number 1 on the US Latin charts and earned them their first Latin Grammy nomination. Over the next few years, the six-piece headlined several world tours and continued to dominate the charts with releases such as Celestial (2006), Empezar Desde Cero (2007), and Para Olvidarte de Mí (2009), their last studio effort before disbanding in 2009. In 2020, RBD reunited for a one-off virtual show and issued the single "Siempre He Estado Aquí," followed by the announcement of a one-off comeback tour featuring all original members except Alfonso Herrera.
