Raised by an Albanian family in Kosovo, Regard is an internationally-celebrated house DJ who scored a global hit with his remix of Jay Sean's "Ride It" in 2019. He was born as "Dardan Aliu" in Ferizaj, Yugoslavia, on July 23, 1993, and began uploading his music to social media websites and various video platforms in 2013. Initially known as an EDM remix artist, he began embracing house music as his career continued, with songs like 2016's "No One Like You" and 2018's "Sun Goes Down" marking his artistic progression. "Ride It" was released in July 2019 and quickly became a viral hit, which earned Regard a record contract with Ministry of Sound. With the label's help, the song became a worldwide hit, reaching Number 1 on the dance charts in Australia, Czech Republic, Ireland, Mexico, Serbia, and the UK. It also went platinum in more than a dozen countries, including the US. Working with the British pop singer Raye, Regard scored another hit with his follow-up single, "Secrets," which became his second chart-topping song on the British dance charts. Released on Raye's debut, Euphoric Sad Songs, in November 2020, the song was nominated for a 2021 Brit Award. Regard then partnered with the DJ duo Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike for a cover of Destiny Child's "Say My Name," which became a Top 40 hit in Belgium, then climbed to Number 4 on America's Dance/Electronic Songs chart with 2021's "You."
