Re:name

Re:name, a pop rock band from Osaka's Kita-Hokusetu area, was formed in 2016 and quickly established a unique style that blends Western pop influences with a nostalgic yet familiar melody. Their lyrics, a mix of English and Japanese, eloquently express universal emotions and internal conflicts, setting them apart in the music scene. They debuted with the EP Re:start and by November 2020, they had nationwide distribution for their album postmodern indie. In April 2023, their song "prettyfine :)" from the album Mindwash (2023) was heavily rotated on FM802, expanding their recognition further. The band members, who have been classmates since middle and high school, also host a podcast called "Housetalk!" where they showcase a more relaxed side through casual conversations, giving fans a deeper insight into their personalities and the band's dynamics. On February 14, 2024, Re:name released their fourth album GENIUS FOOL and followed up with sold-out shows at Shinsaibashi JANUS in March and their first solo concert in Tokyo at Spotify O-Crest in April, demonstrating their growing popularity and appeal.
