School friends Jake Roche (whose parents are actor Shane Richie and singer Coleen Nolan) and Danny Wilkin began writing songs as teenagers. They formed the pop rock band Rixton in Manchester in 2012 with keyboard player Charley Bagnall and drummer Lewi Morgan. Videos on a YouTube channel garnered attention and in 2014 they released an EP titled 'Me and My Broken Heart'. The title track topped the UK Singles Chart and went to number four on Billboard's Adult Contemporary Chart, number six on the Mainstream Top 40 and number 14 on the Hot 100. 'Wait On Me' (2014) reached number 12 in the UK and number 33 on the Billboard Mainstream Chart. 'We All Want the Same Thing' (2015) went to number 21 in the UK. Their first album, 'Let the Road' in 2015, peaked at number 19 on the UK Albums Chart and reached number 32 on the Billboard 200. They have played at festivals in America, toured North America, performed with Justin Bieber and opened for Ariana Grande on her American tour.
