Rodolphe Burger

Alsatian songwriter, composer, producer, poet, singer and guitarist Rodolphe Burger remains firmly attached to the band Kat Onoma, which he led from 1986 to 2004. His solo musical experiences have brought him into contact with Françoise Hardy, Jacques Higelin and Alain Bashung, and he has produced albums such as Meteor Show (1998) and No Sport (2008). In 2012, following a collaboration with musician Artaud, this Velvet Underground fan paid tribute to his favorite band with a show. From another of his shows comes the 2014 album Le Cantique des Cantiques & Hommage à Mahmoud Darwich, celebrating both Alain Bashung and Palestinian poet Mahmoud Darwich. The following year, the rock poet reunited with Philippe Poirier for the commemorative album Play Kat Onoma. In 2017, the ghost of Alain Bashung reappeared indirectly through Rodolphe Burger's collaboration with Christophe Calpini, who had also taken part in Alain Bashung's Fantaisie Militaire . The two men conceived Good together, followed three years later by Environs (2020). After an oriental collaboration with Sofiane Saïdi and Mehdi Haddab for Mademoiselle (2023), the solo album Avalanche (2024) sees the musician return to his spoken-sung style, with a background of guitars and electronic loops.
