With Romain Leleu, a musician from Lille born in 1983, Maurice André's successor in the field of classical trumpet is assured. A graduate of the Paris Conservatoire, he has won the admiration of the instrument's greatest specialists, and has been entrusted with contemporary music creations by Martin Matalon, Philippe Hersant and Karol Beffa. Voted "Instrumental Soloist of the Year" at the Victoires de la Musique Classique awards in 2009, he went on to record cutting-edge works by Glazunov, Rachmaninov and Rimsky-Korsakov(Slavonic Spirit, 2010) and by Brandt, Enesco and Thierry Escaich(Famous Trumpet Sonatas), followed by three major concertos in the Trumpet Concertos repertoire in 2011. In 2013, Sur La Route brings together classical and popular pieces, from Bellini and Tchaikovsky to Michel Legrand.
