Root is a Japanese singer and live streamer. Born on October 25, 1998, in Tochigi Prefecture, Japan, Root began pursuing his passion for music at a young age. In mid-2016, he was recruited by Nanamori to join the J-pop group Strawberry Prince, where he quickly became a fan favourite and on October 30, 2019, he released his first solo album, Kimi to Boku no Himitsu Kichi, which quickly became a commercial success, selling over 30,000 copies on its release day, reaching number 4 on the Oricon weekly album charts. Root's mini-album, Kimi to Boku no Story also performed well, coming in at number 12. In addition to his solo work, Root played the character of Kippei Nemuri in HoneyWorks's fictional idol unit Dolce from 2018 to 2019, recording one album with the group before its disbandment. Root continued his success with the release of two EPs in 2020 and 2021, Boku wa Ame ni Nureta and Wasure Ai, which included hit singles such as "Booo!" and "Garakuta Reboot” which he followed by four non-album singles in 2022, "Arifureta Hibi to, Arifurenai Kimi to.," "Nee yo na," "Wonder Finder!," and "Dō Shiyō mo Naku." On March 2, 2023, Root delighted fans with his latest single, "Ikiru Hanashi," which reached number 42 on the charts.
