Runaway June are an all-female trio of country singers who formed in 2016. They came from very different backgrounds but share a love of country music and singing and their voices blend together in three-part harmonies that produce a fresh, modern country sound. Naomi Cooke, the lead singer and guitarist, comes from an Amish community and is one of eleven siblings; Hannah Mulholland is an actress and artist in addition to a singer and mandolin player and Jennifer Wayne, the grand-daughter of actor and film-maker John Wayne, is a vocalist and guitarist. The three musicians were brought together by Wheelhouse Records and discovered a mutual love of The Dixie Chicks. All three singers are also songwriters and they collaborated on their first single 'Lipstick' in 2016. This reached number 28 in the Billboard Country Music Airplay Chart. It was followed by 'Wild West' in 2017, which also featured on their first EP in the same year. In 2018, they released the single 'Buy My Own Drinks' which was their first top 20 hit, reaching number 18 in the Billboard Country Music Airplay Chart. It was also included in their debut album 'Blue Roses' in 2019. The band performed as the support act for Carrie Underwood on her 'Cry Pretty' tour in 2019, and used this to promote their album and singles.
