Sabrina Carpenter established herself as a teen actress before launching a parallel career as a platinum-selling pop singer. She was born on May 11, 1999, in Quakertown, Pennsylvania. After making her TV debut as an actress, she became a regular face on the Disney Channel in 2013, when she landed the role of Maya Hart in Girl Meets World. She then capitalized on her acting success by branching out into the music business, releasing her first solo album Eyes Wide Open in 2015. Featuring a mix of pop and folk influences, Eyes Wide Open peaked on the Billboard 200 at number 43. Carpenter's follow-up, Evolution, was released in 2016, the same year she appeared in the Disney Channel's made-for-TV movie Adventures in Babysitting. Evolution reached number 28 on the Billboard 200, earned a platinum-selling single with "Thumbs"(2017) (which reached number 28 on the Pop Airplay chart), and firmly established Carpenter's place in the music industry. In 2018, Carpenter earned three consecutive Number 1 hits on the Dance Club Songs chart with "Alien," "Almost Love," and "Sue Me." She also released albums like 2018's Singular: Act 1, 2019's Singular: Act 2, and 2022's Emails I Can't Send. The Top 10 single "Nonsense" earned her another platinum certification in 2022, and she released a holiday-themed version of the song one year later as part of her Christmas EP Fruitcake (2023). Preceded by the chart-topping singles "Espresso"(2024) and "Please Please Please"(2024) both of which topped the Billboard Hot 100 and helped break her into the international pop scene, her sixth studio LP Short n' Sweet dropped in 2024, which includes one of her hit single "Taste". Featuring production by Jack Antonoff, John Ryan, Ian Kirkpatrick, and Julian Bunetta, the album achieved pole position in several European countries, including the UK, where it obtained silver status.
