Sachal Vasandani

Sachal Vasandani, known as Sachal, is an American jazz singer and composer from Chicago. His career gained momentum in 1999 when he was named DownBeat magazine's Collegiate Jazz Vocalist of the Year. Vasandani’s debut album, Eyes Wide Open (2007), established his soulful style, marked by his distinctive interpretations of jazz standards. His second album, We Move (2009), was a New York Times Critics' Pick, further solidifying his reputation. He continued with Hi-Fly in 2011, showcasing collaborations with jazz icons like Jon Hendricks and Wynton Marsalis. In 2015, Vasandani released Slow Motion Miracles, a genre-blending album produced by Michael Leonhart on the Okeh label, celebrated for its unique mix of jazz, pop, and electronic elements.
