Born Felix Angyumanu Nyajo, the Austrian DJ and producer known professionally as salute makes snappy house music for modern dancefloors. After taking their first steps as a producer on SoundCloud in the early 2010s, they gained attention for their remix of Aaliyah's "Rock the Boat" in 2012 and things quickly grew from there. Their debut Lionheart EP arrived in 2013 and a remix of "Money on My Mind" by Sam Smith for Capitol Records followed. After enlisting Abra for the "Colourblind" collaboration on 2015's Gold Rush EP, salute, who is non-binary and uses they/them pronouns, moved to Manchester in 2016 to focus on nurturing their career within the UK's fertile dance music scene. Several EPs followed, including mini-album My Heart and a trio of EPs, Condition I, Condition II, and Condition III, which came out between 2018 and 2019. 2024 saw the release of their debut full-length True Magic, which went to number 5 on the UK Dance Albums Chart, spawned a single in "lift off!" and featured guest appearances from the likes of Disclosure and Rina Sawayama.
