Born on September 28th, 1999 in Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu, India, playback singer Sam Vishal played in college bands before finishing as a runner-up on the seventh season of the reality singing competition Super Singer 7. He made it to the finals of the Super Singer Champion of Champions the following year and in December launched his professional career as a playback singer. Singing alongside director Anirudh Ravichander, he debuted as a vocalist on the Telugu version of "Kutti Story", "Chitti Story", which was made for Indian Tamil-language action film Master, and also recorded "Putta Story", the Kannada version of the song. For his next notable career move, he sang "Talku Lessu Worku Moreu" for the Indian Tamil-language adult comedy film Murungakkai Chips, with music composed by Dharan Kumar alongside Sivaangi .K and continued to build up his film and TV repertoire with contributions to Tamil-language family drama film Anbarivu and a special performance alongside Srinisha on 2022 TV show Thayillamal Nan Illai. In 2022, after dropping a cache of singles including "Theera Kadhalae", he won the Sensational Singer gong at the Blacksheep Digital Awards.
