Sanchez is a bit of a departure from the dancehall scene. The artist belongs neither to the "conscious" dancehall nor to the "gangsta" dancehall; he is content with a pop dancehall, seasoned with a gospel influence derived from his Christian faith. Sanchez's career, which began in the late '80s, has proved prolific, with record after record and concert after concert, boasting record-breaking encores. His albums Simply Being Me (2000) and Stays on My Mind (2002) entered the Billboard reggae charts. His charming singing voice returns to charm hearts in 2010 with Now and Forever.
