Born Françoise Castellani in 1958, Sara Mandiano made her debut in 1985 with the album Ombre Chinoise , under the name Sarah Mandiano. The final "h" in her first name was dropped to make way for her best artistic period, symbolized by the success of the single "J'ai des doutes " in 1991. Her presence, and that of "Défense d'y voir", were not enough to get the album Point d'Interrogation off the ground, despite her label's best efforts. Saison des Pluies was no more successful in 1993, leaving Sara Mandiano to concentrate on her songwriting activities. As a singing teacher, Sara Mandiano took part in the development of the musical Dracula, l'amour plus fort que la mort , and sang backing vocals on two Têtes Raides albums in 2005 and 2007.
