Born in Obernai (Bas-Rhin), Sara Sofia is originally from the Canary Islands. In 2001, at the age of seven, she came to the attention of the Spanish equivalent of Graines de Star on Antena 3. Sara Sofia covers songs by salsa queen Celia Cruz. Her first Spanish album included the hits "Zapatos de Tacon Alto" and "Menseja Corto ". In 2003, Sara Sofia adapted Michel Berger's song "Il jouait du piano debout" in salsa style. Now a seventeen-year-old, Sara Sofia returned in 2011 with the Latin dance hit "Ohe Oha Vas a Sonar".
