The celebrated Sufi and folk singer, songwriter, actor, and poet Satinder Pal Singh, known by the stage name Satinder Sartaaj, was born in Bajrawar, Hoshiarpur, Punjab, India and began his professional career with Ibadat in 2009. In 2011, he won Best International Act at the Brit Asia TV Music Awards (BAMA) and experienced a commercial breakthrough in 2015 with the traditional song "Sai." He continued to grow his international reputation with a key live performance at London's prestigious Royal Albert Hall and a string of internally recognised releases. In 2017, he made his film debut as Maharaja Duleep Sing in historical drama The Black Prince, winning the Best Songwriter title again at BAMA 2017. He picked up the Music Video of the Year prize at BAMA 2018 for his hit single "Udaarian," and has continued to put out releases consisently over subsequent years, from a number of singles for Punjabi music mainstay Saga Music to a trio of singles for Jugnu in 2022: "Titli," "Zara Faasley Te," and "Jaan Ke Bhuleke." In 2023, he collaborated with Gurcharan Singh on the soundtrack for romantic drame movie Kali Jotta.
