Sékouba Bambino

Like many African singers, Guinea's Sékouba Bambino got his start in his country's popular Bembeya Jazz orchestra. His personal career began in 1990 with the album Sama , and he quickly became popular throughout West Africa. In 1997, Sékouba Bambino took part in Africando's Gombo Salsa album, produced by Ibrahim Sylla. He went on to collaborate regularly with Africando. On Sinikan in 2002, François Bréant's arrangements highlighted his extraordinary vocal quality, making him one of the finest exponents of contemporary Mandinka music. Signed by the Lusafrica label, Sékouba Bambino released the album Innovation in June 2012, marked by danceable Lusophone rhythms.
