Edward Maximilian Sene was born on 13 October 2000 in the Finnish city of Kuopio in the Siilinjärvi municipality and launched his rap alter-ego Sexmane in 2018. He marked his arrival with the self-published debut album Sextape in 2019 and immediately caught a buzz, cracking the Finnish charts and spawning a hit in the LP's opening track "Mama." Sexmane—whose father is from Senegal and mother is Finnish—was later signed to Sony Music in 2021 and dropped the follow-up, Väärinymmärretty ("Misunderstood"), which received four nominations at the Emma Awards the following year. Sextape II arrived in 2023 and won Sexmane the Artist of the Year award (public vote) at the 2023 Emma Awards, as well as landing him the top spot in the Finnish charts. The off-album ''Hallille'' single, released in 2023, ranked number 14 in the Finnish charts. In 2024 followed the fourth album Sanansaattaja, featuring the hits "Mania" (Number 4), "Hulluus saa mut huutamaan" (Number 3) and "Riittämätön" (Number 2), and including collaborations with Melo, Tomi Saario, Senya, Lavv and Yrjänä.
