Born Collins Obinna Chibueze on 9 May 1995 in Fairfax, Virginia, the Nigerian-American musician, singer-songwriter, producer, and filmmaker known professionally as Shaboozey has been breathing fresh air into country music since 2014. His debut single "Jeff Gordon" arrived that year and it wasn't long before his talents caught the attention of Republic Records, who signed him to the label in 2017. His popularity quickly grew thanks to the 2018 "Start a Riot" track with Duckwrth, which was featured on the Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse soundtrack, and his debut album Lady Wrangler surfaced that same year. He continued to make his mark on the alt-country landscape with second album Cowboys Live Forever, Outlaws Never Die (2022) and in 2024 joined Beyoncé for two tracks on her Cowboy Carter album ("Spaghettii" and "Sweet / Honey / Buckiin'"). His third LP Where I've Been, Isn't Where I'm Going also saw the light in 2024 and yielded a hit single in "A Bar Song (Tipsy)," which reached number 36 in the US.
