Bao Xun-Ping (包勋评), known in the English-speaking world as Shane Pow, is a Singaporean actor, model and musician, best known for his TV and film appearances but also a proficient singer and guitarist. Born in Singapore on October 4th, 1990, he rose to prominence as a model and 2011 ManHunt Singapore contestant, landing a deal with MediaCorp shortly afterward. This enabled him to star in the company’s various dramas, beginning with 2012’s Poetic Justice, Don’t Stop Believin’ and It Takes Two, and soon led to a Best Newcomer nomination at the 2013 Star Awards. The same year, he made his musical debut on MediaCorp’s annual Music Lunar New Year Album, going on to appear on their 2015, 2016 and 2020 editions with new material. His Mandarin-language debut single, “Shi Ni Jiu Shi Ni (You, It’s You)”, landed in 2016 via Universal Music Singapore and saw him team up with Malaysian singer Peace Teo. At the time of the song’s release, he confessed to Today Online “I think I’d rather act”, although has since released more songs, including two contributions to the soundtrack for the TV show Super Dad in 2020.
