Born on September 12, 1982 in Mohali, Punjab, Indian playback singer and actor Surinder Singh Mann, known professionally as Sharry Mann, quit his civil engineering degree in order to pursue music and the gamble paid off. Sharry Mann kicked off his musical journey in 2011 with the online release of the independent single "Yaar Anmulle," before making his acting debut two years later in the Punjabi film Oye Hoye Pyar Ho Gaya directed by Aditya Sood. He went on to build a successful career as a film actor, appearing in a string of Punjabi movies including Ishq Garaari, also released in 2013, and 2018's Marriage Palace, for which he played the main role of Nimma. Musically, Sharry Mann has amassed a repertoire that traverses singles including 2016's "3 Peg," for which he was won Best Bhangra Song of the Year and albums including 2012's Aate Di Chiri and 2015's Meri Bebe. Sharry Mann is the recipient of various awards, including the PTC Punjabi Music Award for Best Male Debut in 2010 and Best Music Video at the 2019 Brit Asia TV Music Awards for "Yaar Chadeya." 2021 saw the release of the "Diwale" single.
