Silly

Silly is a German rock band that was founded in East Berlin in 1978. The original line-up consisted of Tamara Danz (vocals), Thomas Fritzsching (guitar), Mathias Schramm (bass) and Mike Schafmeier (drums). Over the years, the line-up has changed several times. After the death of Tamara Danz in 1996, Anna Loos took over the vocal part from 2006 to 2018. Julia Neigel and AnNa R. have been vocalists since 2019. The band mainly operates in the rock genre and is known for its profound German lyrics and catchy melodies. Their best-known albums include Mont Klamott (1983), Bataillon d'Amour (1986) and Februar (1989). After the reunification of Germany, they achieved further success with the album Hurensöhne (1993). In the 2010s, they celebrated comebacks with Alles Rot (2010) and Kopf an Kopf (2013), both of which achieved high chart positions. Silly received several awards over the course of their career, including the GDR Art Prize and the German Record Critics' Award. The band is known for its critical lyrics and its influence on the German rock music scene.
