Simba La Rue

Real name Mohamed Lamine Saida, Simba La Rue is an Italian rapper of Tunisian origin. Born on May 17, 2002, he grew up between France and Italy, where he settled to pursue a career in rap. Nicknamed "Simba" (the lion cub) for his fighting temperament and "the street" because he spent his days outside the family home, he began rapping hardcore in 2021 with the track "Détail", in collaboration with Escomar, before enjoying success with "Opinel", which reached number 49 in the Italian charts. Other tracks followed, culminating in "Tarentelle", which reached no. 53 in 2022. Inspired by the British drill, Simba La Rue collected his first tracks on the Crimi EP (2022), which included a guest appearance by Frenchman Fresh la Douille. His reputation, consolidated in Italy with the success of "Mask", "Suite Hotel", then "Brutte Cose" with Minur and "Son Fatto Così" in 2023, continues to grow through his chart results since "Taf Taf" (no. 89), "Levante" (with Paky, no. 27) and "Agitato" (no. 54). Sentenced to six years' imprisonment for his involvement in a shoot-out with fellow artist Baby Gang, Simba La Rue's career was called into question after the recording of the album Tunnel, released in 2024. Comprising a number of new tracks, it includes collaborations with the crème de la crème of Italian rap, including Guè Pequéno, Ghali, Sfera Ebbasta, Paky and Tedua. The album's chart-toppers include the title track (no. 6) and the no. 4 "Bâtiment". Other singles follow in the Italian charts with "Copacabana", "Big Benz" and "40 Gradi".
