Sir Starmer and the Granny Harmers

a parody hit at the end of 2024, "Freezing This Christmas" mocks Prime Minister Keith Starmer's UK government's decision to restrict the Winter Fuel Payment allowance, designed to cover winter heating costs for pensioners. Following in the great tradition of end-of-year parodies, the song released under the fictitious band name Sir Starmer and the Granny Harmers, featuring lyricist Chris Middleton and performer Dean Ager, topped the charts on December 13, 2024. Profits from the song, which is based on the 1974 classic "Lonely This Christmas" by the band Mud, are donated to charity.
