An Italian humor rock band, Skiantos was a forerunner of the punk movement. Formed in Bologna in 1975 by Roberto "Freak" Antoni and three other singers, it evolved with new musicians including guitarist Fabio "Dandy Bestia" Testoni (guitar), with an experimental first album recorded in one night, Inascoltable, released in 1977, amid a repertoire consisting mainly of covers. The band's provocative happenings drew a loyal following of fans, who turned out in force for the album Mono Tono (1978), followed by a performance at the Bologna Punk Festival in April 1979. The departure of "Freak" Antoni after the release of the 1980 album Kinotto led to a brief break and the band's reformation in 1984 for Ti spalmo la crema (1984). Over the decades, Skiantos has maintained its status as a satirical punk band, despite numerous changes of musicians. Following the death of its leader on February 12, 2014, the band continues to perform live, in the absence of a new original album since Dio ci deve delle spiegazoni (2009). Fabio "Dandy Bestia" Testoni, the only original member, died on March 16, 2025 at the age of 72. The band continued as a quartet, comprising Roberto "Granito" Morsiani (drummer and singer, 1989), Luca "Tornado" Testoni (guitarist and singer, 1992), Massimo "Max Magnus" Magnani (bassist, 2003) and Gianluca "Giangi La Molla" Schiavon (drummer, 2007).
