Skoop On Somebody, a Japanese music unit formed in 1995, has had a prolific and evolving presence in the music scene. Initially known as SKOOP, the group consisted of three individuals who met in Osaka and shared a passion for music, leading to their formation. They secured a deal with Sony Records in 1996 after sending in a demo tape, marking the beginning of their professional journey. The group made its major debut in 1997 with the single "No Make de On The Bed." In 2000, they changed their name to Skoop On Somebody, a move that reflected a shift in their musical direction from being "discovered" to actively "hooking" the audience with their music. The band's 2001 single "sha la la" became a commercial success, further elevating their profile. Their work included notable collaborations, like with CHEMISTRY, and involvement in various media from dramas to commercials. Noteworthy later works include their involvement in soundtracks and continuing to release music like the 2008 single "ETERNAL LANDSCAPE" for a Mitsubishi commercial. They released "GOOD NEWS" in 2024.
