Slaughter to Prevail

Slaughter to Prevail, a deathcore band from Yekaterinburg, Russia, debuted with their EP Chapters of Misery in 2015. In 2016, they signed with Sumerian Records and re-released the EP with an additional track, "As the Vultures Circle," marking their debut with the label. This was followed by their first full-length album, Misery Sermon, in 2017. The band gained widespread popularity with their singles "Agony" in 2019 and "Demolisher" in 2020, both lauded for their intense growls and brutal instrumentation. In 2021, they released "Baba Yaga," a single named after a figure from Slavic folklore, which was ranked by Loudwire as the third-best metal song of the year. That same year, they also released "Zavali Ebalo" and their second full-length album, Kostolom, on August 13, which included all four singles. On August 9, 2022, the band released "1984," inspired by George Orwell's novel, after relocating to Orlando, Florida, due to the war's impact, previous government suppression, and an interest in Florida's death metal scene. On July 28, 2023, Slaughter to Prevail released a new single titled "Viking," which they followed with "Conflict" in February, 2024, and "Kid of Darkness" in May, which reached number 68 on online streaming charts.
