Slime

Slime is a punk band from Germany founded in 1979. With their simply structured songs and anti-fascist lyrics, the band became the mouthpiece of the left-wing political scene in Germany. Slime songs repeatedly caused controversy. The song "Bullenschweine" (Bull Pigs ) led to an official investigation in 1980. After the albums Slime I (1981), Yankees Raus (1982) and Alle Gegen Alle (1983), the band disbanded for the time being. At the beginning of the 1990s, the band briefly reunited for the two albums Viva la Muerte (1992) and Schweineherbst (1994). The 1994 album even made it into the German album charts for the first time at number 66. After that, however, there was radio silence again. The band members reunited at the beginning of the 2010s. in 2011, Slime contributed the songs "St. Pauli" and "Mittendrin" to the soundtrack for the film Gegengerade. A year later, a new Slime album followed with Sich Fügen Heißt Lügen. The album climbed to number 17 in the German charts. The band also achieved high chart entries with the following albums Hier und Jetzt (2017, number 20) and Wem Gehört die Angst (2020, number 9). The next longplayer Zwei (2022) was even more successful. Slime made it to number 7 in the German charts.
