Swedish singer Shahrzad Fooladi, aka Snoh Aalegra, was born in Uppsala in 1987. She grew up in the town of Enköping and at the age of 13 attracted the attention of Sony in Sweden who subsequently signed her up for their artist development programme. She began her career performing under the stage name Sheri and released her first single in 2009 titled 'Hit and Run'. After it peaked at number 12 in the Swedish Charts, she swiftly followed it up with 'U Got Me Good' which reached number two. A year later she released her debut album 'First Sign'. Despite the success of her early singles Fooladi decided to reinvent herself in 2014 with the new stage name of Snoh Aalegra and featured on Common's album titled 'Nobody's Smiling'. She released ten singles between 2014 and 2018 but all of them failed to chart. In 2019 the lead single 'I Want You Around' taken from the album 'Uugh, Those Feels Again' finally ended the run of bad luck when it broke into the charts and reached number 19.
