Son Dong-woon

Son Dong-woon, known simply as Dongwoon, was born on June 6, 1991, in Busan, South Korea. He is the youngest member of the South Korean boy group Highlight, formerly known as Beast. Dongwoon began his career in the entertainment industry as a trainee with JYP Entertainment before joining Beast as the last member. He attended Hanyoung High School and graduated from Dongguk University in 2017. Son Dongwoon made his debut with Beast, which became Highlight, and has since released eight Korean mini-albums along with numerous singles. In December 2010, he collaborated with Kang Min Kyung of Davichi on the digital single "Udon." In 2012, Dongwoon contributed to the single "In the Cloud" from Shinsadong Tiger's project Supermarket - The Half, finally credited to Beast. In May 2015, he released his first solo Japanese EP, Kimishika. He continued to explore solo projects, including the digital single album Universe in February 2017 and Prelude: Voice in July 2018. His first Korean extended play, Act 1: The Orchestra, was released in April 2019 and reached number 7 on the Circle Albums Chart. It was followed by a second EP titled Happy Birthday in June 2022 which peaked at number 19. That year, Dongwoon made his television debut with a role in the SBS drama Today's Webtoon.
