An unclassifiable musical project, destructuring electro by injecting fragments of alternative rap, Son Lux is the receptacle for the experimentations of jack-of-all-trades Ryan Lott. Born in Colorado in 1979, this unassuming character began learning several instruments at an early age: guitar, piano and drums. With the support of Sufjan Stevens and Emmylou Harris, who hired him to open for them, he had the opportunity to introduce a wide audience to his unique fusion of samples, dominated by his ethereal voice. He was spotted by the Anticon label, which was particularly impressed by his remixes of Beirut and Castanets. However, it took four years for At War With Walls & Mazes (2008), his highly accomplished debut album, to be completed, and just 28 days for the follow-up, We Are Rising, released in2011. In 2015, he surrounded himself with two other musicians, drummer Ian Chang and guitarist Rafiq Bhatia, to give birth to a third opus, Bones.
