Song Ji-eun (born May 5, 1990, in Seoul, South Korea), known mononymously as Jieun, is a South Korean singer and actress. From an early age, Jieun was passionate about music and auditioned for JYP Entertainment, lending her voice to several Korean drama original soundtracks, including the popular song "Learning To Fly" for Air City. Although she was initially set to debut in a girl group through JYP, the plan was scrapped, leading her to join TS Entertainment, who unveiled a new four-member girl group, Secret, in September 2009, featuring Jieun along with Han Sun-hwa, Jung Ha-na, and Jun Hyo-seong. The group made their mark with their debut single "I Want You Back" in October 2009, continuing to top the Gaon Singles Chart with hits like “Madonna” (2010) and "Shy Boy" (2011). In 2011, Jieun embarked on a solo career, and her debut single "Going Crazy," featuring Bang Yong-guk, was a major success, landing at Number 1. In 2013, Jieun released her first single album, Hope Torture, which debuted at number 6, with the title track climbing to number 9. The following year, she released her first EP, 25, which included the singles "Don't Look At Me Like That" and "Pretty Age 25", which charted at 27 and 15, respectively. In September 2016, Jieun dropped her second EP, Bobby Doll, featuring six tracks, including the title song, which climbed into the top 5. After announcing her departure from Secret in 2017, Jieun released "MIL (Make it Love)" from her third EP Dream and non-album single "Bloom" (피어나:開花), followed by "Empty" in 2021, returning in February 2024 with a cover of Nara Jjang’s 2001 song "Confession".
